On 21 December in APG School Awal Hall, the IB Coordinator, the Principal of Middle & High School, the alumni, and current IB students facilitated the interactive IB orientation with incoming batch of IB parents and students. The attendance filled the venue.
Batch 2019 is a strong cohort of 54 candidates, the biggest number so far to be joining IB diploma programme starting September 2017 and the 9th batch since APG School was authorized to offer IB in 2009.
The day before the event, the pre-orientation in the form of an open, informal forum, was held between Grade 10 and selected senior IB students, who eagerly shared tips on how to make IB experience fun and worthwhile. The Principal and IB Coordinator attended the event.
FAQs in both events range from what this or that new subject is about, difference of this subject to another, what subjects to choose, to what benefits one can gain from taking IB. The best persons around who answered these questions were our very own students and alumni.
The success of IB programme in APG School has been due to strong team work between and among members of the school community – students, alumni, teachers, parents, and management. APG School has been above world average in diploma points and diploma grade since 2011, with 100% pass rate in 2014 & 2015, and so far, with a highest diploma score of 44 out of 45, and most recently has increased the number of candidates scoring in the 40s.
