Grade 11 Learners support UN’s urgent call  : 
UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

 The United Nations adopts the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is calling every country to work hand-in-hand to end poverty and other deprivations that may improve health and education, reduce inequality and boost economic growth, among others.

As an educational institution of Bahrain, APG School organized a local campaign on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) participated by the Grade 11 students. The students were grouped into four and designed their presentation based on their assigned SDG. Section A invited lecturers from the Sahabt Amal Volunteering Team to talk about Health and Nutrition. The lecturers discussed how young learners can support this call of the UN and likewise demonstrated on how to save lives through first aide. Section B conducted a room-to-room visit orienting the lower grades on  Environment and Humanity. They discussed on how to preserve the environment and alleviate the effects of global warming or climate change making the world a better place to live. Section C visited the Grade 9 classrooms and discussed about Social Justice and Equality. They highlighted the concepts of human rights and on how these rights are manifested in the everyday lives of people at every level of society which includes them, the young learners of APG. And Section D, conducted an interactive presentation before Grade 10 students on Citizenship and Responsibility. They pointed out that as citizens of the world, we have responsibilities on ensuring peace and justice within and among countries. They also visited Grades 4, 5 and 6 educating these young learners on how to be responsible citizens at an early age.
These activities of the Grade 11 was followed by a Two-day Workshop for all IB students with the representatives of Bahrain Science Centre and the SDGs. The workshop was a great success because of the active participation of the IB students especially when each group was given the chance to discuss before their peers their assigned SDG.
